Proofreading is the final opportunity to review text once it’s in its final layout. Proofreaders focus on identifying errors rather than making major alterations. They correct grammar, punctuation, and spelling mistakes, ensure proper formatting, and verify signpost features like captions and cross-references. Even small errors matter, so proofreading remains essential—even if your text has already been edited (although I can do some of that too!).

Based in York, I have a 1st Class degree in physics, a PhD in mathematics, numerous publications and over 10 years of experience proofreading work in subjects as diverse as maths, physics, bioarchaeology, marketing, classics and photography.
